“Our core values help reinforce our commitment to
our clients, and the entire staff is clear about what to expect from each
other as a team.”
Sara Beechner, Executive Producer, EnviroStaffer since 1998
Fun, accuracy, teamwork, creativity, accountability, trust, savvy, advocacy and willingness. These core values guide the work of each EnviroMedia team member.
We like what we do, and we like that our work makes a difference. If
you visit our office, you'll see passion in action, from strategic planning
sessions to our outlandish pumpkin carving contests.
Our staff stays at the forefront of social marketing through EnviroU, an in-house continuing education program that helps all of us stay savvy with environmental, public health and communications issues. Guest lecturers include former presidential appointees, university researchers, activists and managers, who delve deeper than the headlines on dozens of issues that affect our clients and our business.
We champion our values in our own workplace. Our 15,000-foot office space
is appointed with dozens of green building materials such as carpet made
with recycled plastic bottles, low volatile organic compound paint, recycled-content sheetrock,
metal wall studs, cork floors and Mirra chairs by Herman Miller. Our staff
performs hundreds of hours of volunteer service throughout the year. It
only seems natural to practice what we preach.
On any given week, you’ll find EnviroMedia employees involved in lending a hand to Adopt-A-Highway and Adopt-a-Street cleanups, Meals on Wheels, Earth Day, Austin Parks Foundation, Christmas Bureau and carpooling on Ozone Action Days.
In addition, EnviroMedia Social Marketing is now a carbon-free business, based on our commitment to carbonfund.org
. Our contributions to carbonfund.org are helping to increase renewable energy in America.
To top it all off, we’re a fun bunch to work with. Kevin
Tuerff’s dog roams the office spreading love. We have fruit
and vegetable beanbag chairs in the “Produce Department”
(our creative war room). We held a "No Shower Thursday" to demonstrate
to the world we can all get by with a little less water. We
have a co-ed softball team, the Green Sox. (Just don’t ask about
our record.) After we turn in big proposals, it has become customary to
drink Goldschlager on our EnvirOasis balcony overlooking downtown Austin.
