Account Executive

EnviroMedia Social Marketing is seeking an account executive who will set the standard for client relations, who possesses a clear understanding of how to develop and maintain trust, and who will provide superior strategic advice. The ideal candidate must have three to five years of progressively responsible agency experience, including new media projects, special events planning and execution, media relations, outreach coordination, and coordination of all aspects of print and broadcast campaign elements. You must also demonstrate your proven ability to plan and manage accurate project budgets and timelines, as well as to meet deadlines. The successful candidate must exhibit excellent presentation, writing and customer service skills. You should be the kind of account executive clients fall in love with. A bachelor’s degree in advertising, public relations, communications or a similar field is also a must.

Responsibilities include executing strategic plans for clients and implementing branding campaigns under the supervision of senior staff.

Associate Creative Director/Art Director

EnviroMedia Social Marketing is seeking a rising creative leader ready to use his or her powers to do some good in the world.

As ACD/AD, you’ll work closely with our Creative Director to continue building the creative reputation of our growing 50-person full-service agency. For 12 years, EnviroMedia has focused exclusively on clients in the environmental and public health arenas. We’re already nationally recognized as experts in these fields; now we’re working to further raise our profile with outstanding, award-winning creative work.

In this position you’ll be expected to lead some projects on your own, but also roll up your sleeves and function as our most senior-level art director. Our state and national client roster runs the gamut. On a given day you could be creating teen-targeted smoking prevention Webisodes, overseeing a water conservation photo shoot, presenting obesity prevention logos, or concepting the next Don’t Mess with Texas TV spot.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Inspire and mentor creative staff—particularly art directors and designers—to develop and deliver creatively and strategically outstanding work.
  • Shepherd assigned broadcast, print, interactive, brand identity and other creative projects from the initial briefing to client sell-through and production.
  • Serve as our “big gun” art director on day-to-day assignments, working solo or with a creative partner.
  • Lead some new business pitches and presentations.
  • Aid in the identification and development of external creative resources, including freelance help, photographers and illustrators.

Background & Experience:

Minimum of 6+ years’ advertising agency work experience with a strong art direction/design focus. Must have some experience supervising creative teams. Spanish-language skills a plus.

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional creative portfolio including strong TV, print, interactive and logo/design work.
  • Fluent in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Able to personally take an assignment from concept stage to final press-ready file.
  • Can clearly articulate creative ideas and concepts and present in a compelling and persuasive manner to clients and colleagues.
  • Able to maintain quality standards and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Able to make the most of sometimes tight budgets and still deliver great work.
  • Must work collaboratively with others, both inside and outside the department. No huge egos or prima donnas, thanks.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about improving the environment and public health.

Conservation Marketing Director

Since 1997, EnviroMedia Social Marketing has been a leading behavior change-marketing agency, dedicated solely to improving the global environment and public health. We are the marketing agency of record for a leading non-profit group of eco-conscious consumers, business and conservation organization dedicated to reducing the energy consumption of computers.

Job Description

The Conservation Marketing Director will report to both the EnviroMedia’s regional director, and also the nonprofit client/executive director.  The successful candidate will create and implement professional development programs about energy conservation for corporate and utility executives, solicit corporate sponsorship proposals, and serve as strategic partner of the client/executive director. The position will be based at our new Portland, Oregon office. Salary range is $5,666 to $6,250 per month, plus generous benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Support executive director as needed with recruitment activities, which include collateral development, presentations, speech writing and delivery, and other relationship management tactics.
  • Development of marketing strategies and tactical plans, which support organizational goals, that are aligned with its core strategy, and delivery of expected results.
  • Assist client with management of multiple campaigns across different marketing channels, including status reports and analysis of results to marketing workgroup and board of directors as appropriate.
  • Present marketing strategies, ideas and opportunities to executive director and volunteer marketing workgroup.
  • As appropriate, act as the point of contact with partners and NGOs on marketing and promotional campaigns.
  • Development of partnerships that increase brand value, increase membership, widen go-to-market channel and audience and increase influence, visibility and results.
  • Support EnviroMedia climate change and energy and water conservation clients, as assigned.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • 4-years of technology marketing experience in the IT industry and/or energy efficiency products industry.
  • Strong understanding of environmental and green IT trends, including the regulatory landscape worldwide, economic forces driving Green IT, governmental and utility incentives, NGO influence, and corporate reputation and brand motivations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or technical degree combined with marketing experience.  
  • Nonprofit fundraising experience.
  • Availability for global travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated passion for taking personal responsibility to address climate change along with a track record of influencing others to do so.
  • Strong understanding of both enterprise and consumer IT behavior and the different strategies to influence each.
  • Experience working in, or with, marketing, advertising and PR agencies.  
  • Experience negotiating, planning, and executing co-marketing and co-branding programs with external parties: government agencies, environmental groups, and private businesses. Outstanding negotiation skills required.
  • Proven ability to work independently to build consensus among multiple parties to support, and drive the implementation with strong follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience and results representing externally through analyst and press relations, events, online, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience representing executives and a solid executive stature.
  • Strong organizational skills and project tracking and management experience.

Interactive Developer

Are you interested in using your programming skills to promote a healthier planet? EnviroMedia Social Marketing is looking for an interactive developer to join our in-house interactive department.

The ideal candidate must have two to three years of web programming experience. Your main responsibilities will be to develop front-end sites and custom back-end systems, enhance sites with additional interactive functionality, offer on-going maintenance to existing sites and manage email campaigns and hosting. You will work closely with account supervisors and the creative team to support the interactive solutions we offer to our clients. You must also be able to multi-task, follow established processes and work in a Mac environment.
