What’s that smell?
That’s the smell of EnviroMedia getting stinky for a good cause.
As of Sunday, July 24, EnviroMedia is on Shower Strike. Our team will forgo showers all week to raise money for water projects in East Africa. We vow not to shower until we have reached our fundraising goal of $3,000 — no matter how stinky we get.
EnviroMedia has created many behavior-changing campaigns for water conservation, so this cause fits perfectly with our passion. Our savvy group of stinkers, along with many others across the country, will get smelly to save lives during Well Aware’s third-annual Shower Strike week. Well Aware is a nonprofit that creates sustainable water systems to provide life-saving water to people in East Africa.
All proceeds from Shower Strike 2011 go directly toward water projects in East Africa, including a borehole project in Mithini, a community in Ithanga Hills, Kenya. Well Aware is in the process of digging a solar-powered well in Mithini. In rural Africa, instead of going to school, children often walk all day only to return with unsanitary water. Well Aware will provide a well for the Mithini community and its children’s center, a home for children who have lost their parents. The money our team raises will help Well Aware complete this project by the end of August.
To help our coworkers, clients, family and friends, please donate to our EnviroMedia Shower Strike page. The sooner we reach our goal, the sooner we shower — and the sooner children in Africa will get a better chance at surviving.
