Each May, we send spring interns out into the world with new social marketing skills and welcome summer interns to learn the ways of EnviroMedia.
During the transition, we open up the Enviroblog to our interns to share what they learned and offer a peek into what the agency and the work we do looks like from their perspective.

EnviroMedia Internship: Account Service with Green Canary Sustainability Consulting (an EnviroMedia company), January 2012 – present
As I’m coming to realize, opportunities tend to fall out of the clear blue sky. Well, in this case it was a rainy day in December. On an adventure, I spotted an Adopt-a-Highway sign sponsored by EnviroMedia Social Marketing. It sounded like a fantastic marriage of concepts — environment, media, society and marketing. I called to learn more and ended up applying for an internship with Green Canary Sustainability Consulting that same day. You know the rest.
Upon hearing the story behind that sign during my first week at EnviroMedia, I knew that I had landed in the right place. Social marketing, to me, is an invaluable tool that can and should be applied everywhere. It is a resource in the sustainability movement that has enormous potential, and I am eager to use it as a tool daily. I feel fortunate to be here because I learn something new and unique every day, from shorebird conservation practices in Patagonia to energy use demographics right here in Austin. I hugely appreciate the knowledge and expertise that Rob Borowski, my supervisor, and the team have shared with me. I feel encouraged to learn more, and that is how I know I am in the right place. Having fun and learning every day … life is good at EnviroMedia!
