AUSTIN, Texas — A media planning and buying director and recruits from a New York City ad agency are the latest hires at EnviroMedia Social Marketing, a Texas-based firm specializing in changing people’s behavior to improve public health and the environment.

“We have worked hard to keep growing in a sluggish economy,” said EnviroMedia president and co-founder Kevin Tuerff. “We’re fortunate to work for clients that have continued to invest in promoting clean energy, a clean environment, and fighting health threats like tobacco and obesity, and to support them we’re expanding our team.”

Media
EnviroMedia named Dee Anne Heath its new director of media buying and planning, a recently created position. Before EnviroMedia, Heath was the media account director at Hawthorne Direct and media director at Kolar Advertising. She spent 12 years at GSD&M and has taught Advanced Media Strategies at The University of Texas.

Creative
Art director Chris Carlberg and copywriter Justin Prichard returned to Austin after holding similar jobs at DiMassimo Goldstein in New York. They’ve joined EnviroMedia’s growing creative team, along with new interactive developer Lisa Cowan. Lisa has more than 15 years of experience as an interactive developer and has worked with EnviroMedia on environmental and public health projects.

Lani Kahn joined EnviroMedia as the agency’s new traffic manager. She was the traffic manager at T3 and Kolar Advertising.

EnviroMedia hired Sarah Hudgens as its new copy editor/proofreader. Sarah came from the University of Texas Press, where she worked as a manuscript editor.

Account manager Summer Latham joins EnviroMedia in September to work on, among other campaigns, tobacco cessation for the Department of State Health Services. Latham comes from Clarity Coverdale Fury in Minneapolis, where she served as the account manager for Minnesota’s statewide tobacco cessation campaign.

Promotions
Three of EnviroMedia’s account supervisors are moving up to new positions as EnviroMedia expands. Melissa Anderson-Cramer, Heather Miller, and Talley Summerlin have been promoted to account director.
